In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew talks with Orin Aviram of ParaZero about the company's newest product: drone safety systems for the DJI Phantom and DJI Mavic. Like the company's original systems, developed for larger aircraft – like the DJI Matrice M600 – their new products independently monitor aircraft performance for indications of a failure: such as freefall or excessive roll angle. Upon detecting such a failure, the system stops the propellers from spinning and deploys a parachute, allowing the drone to make a soft landing with minimal risk to persons and property on the ground. This technology may help pilots gain approval to fly drones over people. Unlike their larger counterparts, the systems for the Phantom and Mavic can be re-packed by the end user. At Xponential 2018, ParaZero also announced the release of a drone safety system for the Matrice M200 and M210 drones.
