6 Blade HQ Prop Madness Flight Test - ImpulseRC Alien

Flight testing 6 Bladed HQ Props!! HQ sent us 6 packs of these props and with all the feedback on them I personally wasn’t going to even bother trying them, however in typical Thomas fashion, he was determined to make these props work. Keep in mind this isn’t an any way meant to be a serious review or anything like that. What you’re seeing here is us testing out the idea and seeing if they were even doable.
We had a set of Monster Volo Edition T-Motor 2208 2001Kv motors pretty much ready to go. They were being used on my 3S Avada prior to being fitted to his 6” Alien.
Thomas had been reading the feedback on these props and correctly decided they needed way more power to drive these motors. Most people had been testing them on 2205 motors which just didn’t have the grunt needed to turn so many blades.
So keep in mind this is Paul writing this and this is my opinion, I doubt Thomas would agree with me even though I’m sure he knows I’m right lol The 6 Bladed props were very locked in and down low they seemed responsive when using such a big motor. Like Thomas Said in the video they lacked top end in a major way, but that wasn’t the biggest problem. The real problem was how much they were hurting the battery, so running these props with the right motor would mean a serious reduction in battery life.
Now having said all that, boy was it fun to fly! So that being said this obviously wasn’t meant to be a serious video, more just Thomas and I having a bit of fun with his crazy ideas.
