FAI F3A “F” Sequence with Chad Northeast

It was a cloudy start to the final day of the Pattern in the City Contest at our club in Surrey, BC. The F3A pilots have to fly the very challenging “F” sequence on the last day and in this video, Chad Northeast flies his F3A Oxai Acuracy Biplane powered by a prototype Plettenburg motor driving a Brenner V3 Contra Drive System.
As you may have heard me mention before, I am not a big fan of trying to film Pattern events because they fly so big and high that the camera is on full zoom the entire time. Needless to say (at least for me) this results in a lot of shaky video that I’m not especially proud of. It is what it is however and this is the full, unedited F sequence that Chad flew Sunday morning. By the way, Chad won the event. He and the rest of the Canadian team are using these events to prepare for the 2015 World Championships to be held in Switzerland from August 6 – 16.
Within the video, I show a slide that lists the required maneuvers of the F sequence. Pause the video when you come to the slide and take a look, it will blow you way.
